WHEN YOU NOTICE and appreciate good things
about other people, it improves your mood and the moods of the
people around you, whether you're at home or at work. You get
to live in a more pleasant environment.
You know that already. But it's hard to
remember, isn't it? That's where the five pennies come in.
At the beginning of your day, or even right
now, put five pennies in your left pocket. Now try to find something
nice to say about someone (something you actually think is true),
either to their face or behind their back, and every time you
do, move one penny to your right pocket. Try to move all five
today. You may be surprised at the extended consequences of this
simple action.
